Digia partners with Atelier to offer Symbian OS based technologies and solutions for next generation mobile phones
Digia Inc, a software house developing personal communications technologies for Wireless Information Devices (WID's) and Atelier, a leading expert in mobile phone software, announced today a partnership that offers system integration, products and services to handset manufacturers.

Digia and Atelier shall commence intensive and profound cooperation in the field of marketing and system integration, including products and services in relation to the Symbian OS for wireless information devices. In this cooperation, the technologies and services of Digia and Atelier complement each other and offer handset manufacturers an excellent value proposition.

The Symbian Operating System is a common standard for the world's leading WID manufacturers. It enables different types of terminals to communicate together and comprehend each other. Symbian OS is used as a platform for applications in Communicator and Smartphone type product families. The owners of Symbian have about 70% share of the world's mobile phone market at the moment and most of the manufacturers have licensed Symbian OS.
